Pursuing my doctoral studies at the Institute of Political Sciences (IPS) at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) has been a profoundly transformative journey. For prospective and current students reading this, I want to emphasize that IPS offers more than just rigorous academic training; it provides a truly conducive learning environment that nurtures both intellectual and personal growth.

One of the most remarkable aspects of IPS is the faculty. The advisors and professors are incredibly approachable and consistently supportive. They are always willing to guide students through complex research challenges. 

This supportive culture extends seamlessly to the student body as well. I have been continually impressed by how local Taiwanese students enthusiastically bridge cultural gaps, by actively engaging in deep academic discussions in English, which fosters a genuinely inclusive international community.

Beyond the classroom, NSYSU’s unique location creates an unparalleled learning milieu. Nestled perfectly between lush mountains and the expansive sea, the campus offers a serene, picturesque backdrop that clears the mind and inspires focused research.

Moreover, my life in Kaohsiung has extended far beyond the university borders. This vibrant city has provided me with invaluable personal opportunities to serve the local Filipino community. Through these civic and religious engagements and my academic endeavors, I have been able to forge strong, lasting bonds with various Taiwanese networks.
