TAIWAN GOVERNMENT AND POLITICS
“The course Taiwan Government and Politics have provided me with a lot of knowledge concerning the contemporary politics in Taiwan and what events have led to the situation that Taiwan is in now. The topics that are covered include the making of democracy in Taiwan, the state of executive and legislative parts of Taiwan government , voters attitude towards certain major issues in Taiwan politics and international relations that influence the politics in Taiwan. The literature apart from touching on Taiwan , as well introduces students to the methods as well major debates that could form for a base when wanting to explore certain topics. Both quantitative and qualitative methods are touched upon during the course, which with the help of the lecturer can give student a good understanding of how these are used in professional articles.
Course as its offered in English , provides for a good opportunity to test and improve your skills in writing essays in English and making conversation, as in class activity is important and mainly the course requires students to interact with each other. The lecturer through his teaching style which is very modern and open , allows students to share their opinions and thoughts on certain topics that are touched upon. The course lastly requires students to make an individual research on the topics covered during the lectures or related with these. This gives the opportunity to witness how articles ought to be structured.
The lecturer very much provides the opportunity for students to critically think about certain aspect of contemporary politics in overall. His teaching style benefits discussion amongst the participants of the lecture, by exploring more complex issues which often leads to interesting findings. Definitely this lecture will benefit not only those with little knowledge on Taiwan politics but as well those looking for a deeper understanding of Taiwanese politics.”
