修課同學心得分享

“Firstly, I would like to give thanks to Professor Steve on who gave us such an opportunity to know more about philosophy of politics. I'm glad that this course is conducted in English and English of a native speaker that help me to improve my skills in language.

Secondly, I like when Professor On send some links to video about topics we discussed in class. It makes an image in my head more clear.

However, here will be only my personal opinion which I don't want to impose of others. So, sometimes I want to read more books about political philosophy but during this class it is not a must. I wish it would be our homework also to read something about related topics.

Upon the whole, I like all the classes, which let me think and make me think.

This class is about such an experience. However, I would like to see more discussions during the class, I see, that you, Pro fessor On, try to make people communicate but unfortunately, they resist to do that.”

課程大綱

Over the course of the 18-week semester, we shall scrutinize the specific arguments of these books. This seminar is divided into three six-week segments: the first six weeks will focus on immigration, the second six weeks on self-determination; the third six weeks on reparation.
Students are expected to think seriously, deeply, and morally about these challenges. In particular, we shall probe into the interrelationship among these three wide-ranging, overlapping sets of issues. How might they be related? For example, how does the phenomenon of immigration impact – or not – self-determination and reparation? Do these issues diverge? Do they converge? If so, in what specific ways?
