杜坤峰老師的「台灣政府與政治」是一堂相當有內容的課程，作為身在台灣這塊土地成長的人來說，一定要瞭解台灣政府與政治；如同在美國都會有美國政府與政治一樣，這也是這堂設立的原型。老師首先將這堂課分為四個大主題，分別是「台灣的歷史」、「政府與政治」、「兩岸關係」、「國際關係」，四大主題再細分幾個小主題，循序漸進的瞭解台灣政府與政治的整體脈絡和基本概念，是一個相對好上手的課；作為一個研究所的課，上課方式一開始老師會先以當週所發生與兩岸關係、國內政治、國際關係有關的時事開頭，再每週負責導讀的同學以當週的文獻作為基礎進行課堂中的討論。這絕對是一堂兼具實務及理論的一堂課。

This course looks into the politics of Taiwan through various perspectives, from domestic politics, organisation of the government, local elections, social movements, and cross-strait relations to international politics. Students are expected to not only gain a wide range of knowledge about these issues but also learn to think critically about them. The first part of the course briefly introduces the history of Taiwan. The second part focuses on domestic politics and organisation of the Taiwanese government. In the third part, we will examine the political interactions between Taiwan and China. The final part discusses the challenges and difficulties that Taiwan faces in international politics.
