這學期選修了韓國與東亞政治經濟這門課，上課成果加深我對政治經濟的理解。因自身是英語教師，我刻意會選擇以英文授課的課程。上課的經驗都是令人滿意的，不管是上學期的國際安全，還是這學期的韓國與東亞政治經濟，教授課程的老師的英文能力都無庸置疑。
而從課程設計的角度來看，授課教師的課程設計是種模組化的概念。老師上課選擇了一本基礎書作為教科書，上課前老師先講解基礎概念，這些概念與老師選擇的期刊論文高度相關，這引導了學習者建立基本的觀念，而且有助於學習者理解指定期刊論文的閱讀。而老師選擇的文章顯然是有次序的，由macro角度的期刊逐漸進入mircro視角的文章，這種有層次性的選讀對學習者的學習有莫大的鼓舞，不至於因觀念的阻礙而喪失學習的興趣。
因為我是帶職進修，我特別喜歡上課的方式。這是一堂hybrid課程，部分時段是面授，絕大多數時間是線上，這部分減少了我的舟車勞頓。老師上課對時間的掌控也是精準的，對一位在職人士來說，這便利了我對時間的規劃。
最意外之喜的是課堂規模。上課人數只有3人，雖然這代表頻繁的報告次數，但這同時表示上課可發言的時間更多，對學科的理解更好。

This course is a broad-gauged introduction to the political economy of development. The various meanings of the word “development” have changed over time, but it has become a complex set of social, economic, political, cultural, and institutional transformations over time. In particular, previous “Asia’s Next Giants” or “Asian economic tigers” provided a mixed signal of development after the 1997 economic crisis. Therefore, this course provides the basic knowledge of the international political economy and an introduction to the political economy of Korea with perspectives of development in theoretical, historical, and comparative perspectives. The topics covered include theories of international political economy, the history of Korean economic development with developmental states, and other approaches that explain different stages of development in the world. Simultaneously, the student will study development, globalization, and transformation.
