在這門課裡，老師會給我們每周要讀的文獻，並且在課堂中一起討論。老師會先介紹國際政治經濟學的理論，再來是介紹各個貿易理論，讓我們理解國家之間的貿易是如何運作的。同時老師也會比較東亞國家之間的經濟發展，特別是比較韓國與台灣的經濟。老師在課堂上特別注重課堂參與的部分，希望每位同學都能回答問題。期中考和期末考時，老師會針對上課的內容，出相關的題目讓大家回答，以essay呈現。

This course is a broad-gauged introduction to the political economy of development. The various meanings of the word “development” have changed over time, but it has become a complex set of social, economic, political, cultural, and institutional transformations over time. In particular, previous “Asia’s Next Giants” or “Asian economic tigers” provided a mixed signal of development after the 1997 economic crisis. Therefore, this course provides the basic knowledge of the international political economy and an introduction to the political economy of Korea with perspectives of development in theoretical, historical, and comparative perspectives. The topics covered include theories of international political economy, the history of Korean economic development with developmental states, and other approaches that explain different stages of development in the world.
